Shortcut Hummus

Shortcut easy 5 minute hummus recipe made with canned hummus

There was a period of my life during the pandemic, where like the rest of the world, I was stocking up on ingredients as if I was preparing for a world apocalypse.

It was unfortunate and scary time, and we were blessed and privileged to be able to stock up on ingredients we thought we might not have access to.

During that time I purchased a lot of canned products, and one of these ingredients were canned chickpeas.

They stayed in my pantry for a while, and I think it’s finally time to utilize them once and for all to have some space in my pantry!

For smoother hummus:

  • Boil the chickpeas for 10-15 minutes with a teaspoon of baking soda.

TROUBLESHOOTING HUMMUS

If the hummus is too thick: Add a tablespoon at a time of water or aquafaba (chickpea water).

If the hummus is too runny: Add more chickpeas or more tahini.
